LAURA GIBBS has experience in family law litigation, mediation and appellate practice.
Laura’s practice involves negotiating and drafting prenuptial, postnuptial and separation agreements; representing individuals participating in mediation; serving as a mediator and master; and, representing individuals in connection with divorce, paternity, guardianship, modification and contempt proceedings as well as appeals.
Laura is a board member (and former President) of the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys. She is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the Boston Bar Association. Laura is also a member of the steering committee for the Diversity & Inclusion section of the Boston Bar Association. Laura is admitted to practice in Florida, Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Laura is the current chair of the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education program concerning Jurisdictional Issues in Domestic Relations Practice. The Massachusetts Family Law Journal and the Connecticut Family Law Journal both published Laura’s article entitled, "Forging Meaningful Relationships With Children: The Issues and Controversies Surrounding the Representation of Children in the Context of Divorce Custody Proceedings" (1999).
Laura earned her J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Loyola University, New Orleans. Laura has been selected for inclusion in the Massachusetts Super Lawyers-Rising Stars® editions (2005 - 2010) for her work in family law.
